At the start of October I visited Stannah Stairlifts to meet CEO Jon Stannah and some of this team as well as tour their impressive production facility on East Portway.
150 years old this year, Stannah is still owned and run by the great, great grandchildren of its founder Joseph Stannah. Having recently produced their 600,000th stairlift they have just celebrated their 40th year in the business, a fantastic excuse to celebrate.
They’re a real success story exporting to over 46 countries as one of the largest employers in Andover. They are particularly proud of their apprenticeship scheme which has been running for decades. So successful has it been that many of the current leadership team joined the company as apprentices. Here’s to another 150 years of innovation and success.
