Boundary changes means Rooksdown, on the northern edge of Basingstoke, moves into my constituency at the election. There’s no better time to get to know people than at Christmas and so I dropped in at the very jolly community centre lights switch on last week. I met a lot of lovely people – and their excited children – and the three local Conservative councillors were the life and soul of the party. I didn’t sit on Santa’s knee sadly, but he did remark on my good behaviour this last year.
