Lordsfield Swimming Club in Overton has won a huge grant from the government to refurbish their open air pool. With my support, they applied to the Community Ownership Fund for support for their plans to reline and refit the pool for the future. I’m very happy to report they have been succesful to the tune of £835,400 – an enormous sum of money for a really valuable local institution.
Since the 1960’s this heated open air pool has been used by generations of Overtonians. Legions of local kids have learned to swim there, and dozens of residents have volunteered and swum there. It is exactly the sort of organisation we should all value and I am so pleased the government has recognised the same. Bravo to the team for their hard work and dedication.
