Improvements on the A303

For years traffic on the A303 near Stonehenge has been dreadful with single lanes reduced to an infuriating crawl. Now Highways England have announced they plan to build a 1.8 mile tunnel under Stonehenge, bypass Winterbourne Stoke, and improve the existing junctions between the A303 and the intersecting A345 and A360.

Not only will this reduce the number of accidents, but given Andover’s position as a logistics hub, it will be great for businesses. Having sat in a traffic jam for over an hour on the way past Stonehenge between Christmas and New Year I can only applaud this. This is great news!
