Overton is a very enterprising village with a thriving high street, and now a gang of locals had the brilliant idea to set up a monthly repair cafe in the community centre, doing their bit for Sustainable Overton.
I dropped in this week to see them at work, and very impressive it was too. Nothing phased them from microwave oven repairs to darning and stiching and knife sharpening.
They are part of the “Repair and Reuse” movement, encouraging us to do what it says on the tin and saving billions in waste as a result.
All strength to their arm I say and thanks to Teresa Reynolds for inviting me along.
