As you may know, since the great flood of 2014, the Bourne Valley has seen a lot of work by groups up and down that lovely part of North West Hampshire to make sure it doesn’t happen again. From Vernham Dean in the north, to Hurtstbourne Priors in the south, under the umbrella of the flood action group, parish councils, riparian owners, water companies and the Environment Agency have been working hard.
However, there are still some problems to be solved, and so last month I brought all the parties together with Southern Water in the lead, to deal with a particular issue in St Mary Bourne High Street.
I’m happy to say that everyone left the meeting clear that we had worked out a plan which I am hopeful will be executed in the next few months.
