International Women’s Day

Last night I attended the International Women’s Day reception at No. 10 Downing Street and then the Department for Work and Pensions – DWP’s Women’s Network evening. It was fantastic to meet some incredibly inspirational women such as anti-FGM campaigner Nimco Ali who I knew from my time at City Hall, Sonia Brown who does great work getting more black women into business with her National Black Women’s Network and Katie Bourne, Sussex’s Police and Crime Commissioner. Congratulations to all!

Theresa May’s speech from the evening is also well worth a read. https://www.gov.uk/government/speeches/pms-international-womens-day-speech-8-march-2018
