It was great to visit Dawes Highway Safety in Andover, Hampshire on Friday 12th February to see the success the business is having in pushing the boundaries of automotive engineering to make vulnerable road users safer.
The company is a great example of social responsibility, ambition and business sense coming together to create a company which others should aspire to emulate. It wasn’t hard to see why they have been such a success and why they offer so much promise for the future.
The business is also an example of how government at all levels can partner with industry to get new ideas to market. Thanks to Councillor Peter Giddings, the company received a £500 incentive grant from Test Valley Borough Council. The council also introduced Dawes Highway Safety to the Enterprise M3 LEP’s Growth Hub.
James has come up with an innovative solution to a really pressing problem for London and elsewhere. I will do what I can to support him as he breaks into the London market, and make sure his product is on the radar at City Hall. If we want “Engineered in Andover” to become an international brand, then his is exactly the kind of business we need to support for the future.
