The wet weather has caused many anxious families to worry about flooding over the last few weeks. I have been regularly checking water levels myself and liaising closely with Southern Water and the Environment Agency about the massive pumping operation underway down the Bourne Valley and to the West of Andover.
Thus far we have avoided a repeat of the flooding in 2014, but more work needs to be done to protect more homes for the future. As part of that project I recently dropped in the speak to the parish council and villagers in Vernham Dean about what more improvement works are needed to keep them dry. Watch this space.
