Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme Update

Today the government has announced the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme will be extended until October, with employees still receiving 80% of their regular incomes.

This scheme has seen over 7.5 million workers protected and over 1 million businesses able to retain their staff.

Until July the scheme will continue in its current form, however, post July there will be greater flexibility to allow the financial burden to be shared between both government and business and furloughed workers will slowly be allowed to return to work part-time as the economy beings to restart.

This is an outstanding outcome for the British people and represents one of the most generous schemes in the world.

Further details will be provided towards the end of May.
