The Palace of Westminster is the mother of Parliaments and the cockpit of our democracy. Everybody gets a vote and everybody is represented. It is for everyone. That’s why it’s so vital that we equip all children with the knowledge they need to engage as citizens and understand our political system. Teachers share that responsibility with parents and so I’d like to share news of the UK Parliament Teacher Ambassador Programme which our Education Service will be hosting from 22 – 24 January 2018. Teachers will get the chance to experience Parliament first hand so they can then return to their schools to support understanding of, and increase engagement with, Parliament. Transport and accommodation costs are covered and applications are welcome from teachers, school leaders and teacher training providers working with young people aged 5-18.
