On Monday 12th December my colleagues Jo Churchill MP and George Freeman MP saved the day by standing in for me at the annual reception for the Life Sciences All Party Group – I was sadly detained questioning the Chancellor on November’s Autumn Statement.
The life sciences industry is one of Britain’s most important sectors and we need to champion it more than ever now that we are leaving the European Union. The Group is one that I am truly proud to chair and yesterday, as they do all year, the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry, BIVDA, AMRC, BIA and Life Sciences UK did a great job of spreading the word on a sector that makes us both healthier and wealthier.
Thank you to everyone who came along, including exhibitors Boston Scientific, Association of British Healthcare Industries, Wound Chek, Medtronic, Roche, the Medicine Manufacturing Industry Partnership, Applikon Biotechnology and uMotif – health self management software.
