As the country emerges from Covid, normal life is resuming, and I have to confess I had a tear in my eye as I walked to the SMB Flower Show this year. I had dropped in on local county councillor Tom Thacker and was walking across the watermeadows, when I heard the strains of Test Valley Brass playing. Such a traditional sound, for such a lovely event, even on a gray wet day, moved me, after what we’ve all been through. It was the first of many I hope, so let the Fetes begin!
