As many will know, Vitacress are a big local employer and a key influence on the health of the precious Bourne Rivulet as it flows towards the Test.
I dropped in for the morning to talk to the management team about their plans for the site, the watercress business generally and what further improvements they are making to ensure water purity. A had a fascinating tour of the the impressive facilities and met many of the staff.
Their ambition is that the water leaving them into the river should be cleaner than when it arrived, which is great. To get there will take a bit of tech and a new building, for which permission will soon be sought.
We are lucky to have such a responsible company operating on the river and I left encouraged by their enthusiasm for our local ecology.
