VE Day 75

“We were the first, in this ancient island, to draw the sword against tyranny”.

Today we salute and remember the courage, tenacity and victory of a generation who fought for freedom and rebuilt our nation.

With army HQ and a large community of military families in the constituency, I hope you will find time to celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day at home today, with a national moment of remembrance at 11am, a national toast at 3pm and an address to the nation by the Queen at 9pm – the exact moment her father did the same 75 years ago.

There’s lots on online and across the airwaves on BBC and @AndoverRadio 95.9FM.

Love Andover have an entire schedule of events for the day which can be found here https://loveandover.com/news/local-news/mp-joins-ve-day-celebrations/?fbclid=IwAR0xvz1upEn_qlZw5PcrTnF3nhMU9EwHxksGBcIrHlJvOOKaPkfhLiEn7qA
