NFU Meeting at Cole Henley

Last Friday morning saw me getting a proper breakfast at Peak House Farm in Cole Henley. Mark and Jenny Stevens and their sons were generous hosts for a meeting with a number of local farmers and the NFU to discuss the future of farming and the countryside. It was a stimulating start to the day and a very wide ranging discussion from the future of subsidies and Glyphosate to farmers as entrepreneurs and the impact of Brexit on sugar beet production. I’m actually a frequent visitors to Peak House Farm – I use the road to Kingsclere all the time and I often stop to use their raw milk vending machine. £1 will buy you an ice cold litre of delicious unpasteurised milk – there are containers provided and you can stop any time during the day.
