Supporting people with old age

A full house with the Andover and District Older People’s Forum where I took questions and filled everyone in on what our Government is doing to help support people in old age. I talked about what has been some of the most radical changes to our pensions for decades – scrapping the 55pc ‘death tax’ on pension pots so that it’s easier to pass on your pension to your children, introducing the “Triple lock” which guarantees an annual increase in pensioner’s income by at least 2.5%, and new pension freedoms which lets you make choices that suit your circumstances – be it an annuity, accessing drawdown schemes previously restricted to wealthier savers, or a mixture. A balanced set of changes that will make our pensions system sustainable for the long-term.
