Sir George promotes deal on ‘A’ boards

Sir George Young, Andover’s MP, has been in touch with local traders, Hampshire County Council and Test Valley Borough Council to help find a solution to the current problem of A Boards in the town.

“There is a dialogue underway between Hampshire County Council and Test Valley Borough Council to find a way through. On the one hand, there is the legitimate wish of traders to display information about their goods and services and where they are located; and, on the other hand, there are concerns on the part of the visually impaired and about what is sometimes called “urban clutter”. I believe an acceptable compromise is achievable.”

“There is an understanding that, once the current notices to remove the boards expires, there will be a pause for reflection before any action is taken.”

“I am sure that, with good will, we can find a way through.”
