Article 50 Ruling

The British people voted to leave the EU and that’s what we will do.

On the pro-Remain Government’s own campaign leaflets were the words ‘This is your decision. The Government will implement what you decide.’ No one should forget that in light of the High Court’s ruling that the Government must consult Parliament before triggering Article 50, the clause beginning the process of Britain leaving the European Union. The Government will appeal and it should reach the Supreme Court for December.

Even if the Government loses however, it’s highly unlikely that Parliament would impede the Government. Whilst there are some Remain hold outs fighting on like Hiroo Onoda, the Japanese soldier who didn’t realise the war had ended for 30 years, the vast majority of MPs represent constituencies which voted Leave. They can’t seriously block Brexit any more than the unelected House of Lords.
